In 2005 men's fitness magazine rated Houston, Tx as the fattest city in the nation. I am true houstonian tipping the scales at four-hundred pounds.
Good Health everyone and welcome to the Fat Chronicles. After being sick and tired of being unhealthy and dissatisfied with my body, I've decided to try something radical; avoid my typical diet of sugar, processed flour, salty treats and chemical laden foods for a more whole and healthful diet. I've read enough articles and seen enough television programs to slowly begin to realize that the foods I normally eat are not only nutritiously vacuous but have negative health side effects. High fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils and enriched bleached flour should not be the foundation of my diet.
This blog will chronicle my journey of becoming more healthful. I hope that it inspires people to change their healths for the better. I hope by being completely honest on this blog, I too can find the strength to change my life for the better. This blog is not just about better physical health but mental, social and emotional health as well. I will use this as my platform to show others the process of how I control my health and weight.
I hope not to become an expert because experts have tendencies to turn a deaf ear to new information. Instead I want to be a constant learner and be able to apply new nutritional information to my life.
Watch me as I learn, watch me as I grow; watch my successes and failures. Thank you for visiting and welcome to 'The Fat Chronicles'.
Good Health,
Sam
